Columbus Zoo Wildlights

| |

With the holiday season upon us, spending time with loved ones is the perfect way to celebrate the season. One of my favorite places to celebrate the holiday season in central Ohio is the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium for their annual Columbus Zoo Wildlights display! It is the perfect place to enjoy the seasonal holiday lights and get into the festive holiday spirit!

Wildlights began in 1988, and this year the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is celebrating 28 years of Wildlights holiday tradition. Over the past 28 years, the number of lights have grown, this holiday tradition began with just 120,000 lights, and now displays over 3 million LED lights throughout the zoo. The highlight of Wildlights is the wonderfully choreographed Holiday Light Show at Conservation Lake. The show takes place every fifteen minutes and features an eight minute changing light display timed to Trans-Siberian Orchestra music. So find a perfect spot by the lake and enjoy watching the colorful lights glisten and reflect off the lake.

Although the millions of twinkling lights are the stars of Wildlights, visitors can also enjoy other holiday attractions such as the Holiday Skate Ice Rink, a visit with Santa in the Holiday Village, learn how other cultures celebrate the season in the Global Celebrations Village, watch Santa Claus dive in the 10,000 gallon Discovery Reef Aquarium, visit the zoo animals, and many other events throughout the Wildlights celebration. So join the nearly 350,000 other guests that visit this holiday tradition annually to view the cheerful twinkling Wildlights and participate in the other holiday activities at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium! Happy Holidays!!
