Miami, Florida Part I

|

This past weekend, I visited my aunt in Miami, Florida. It was a quick girls’ getaway, with beach and poolside lounging, refreshing drinks, good food, and fun times! While I have stayed on South Beach, this visit I stayed with my aunt in Aventura (north of South Beach). A nice winding drive on the A1A (which becomes Collins Avenue closer to South Beach) puts you in the center of South Beach, Miami. With the hustle and bustle of the shops, restaurants, bars, hotels, and lots of tourists you can definitely feel the South Beach, Miami vibe!

When visiting South Beach, make sure you stroll along Collins Avenue (A1A) with plenty of hotels and restaurants situated parallel to the beach. Also visit Lincoln Road, this busy pedestrian street has plenty of shopping and restaurants to satisfy any visitor. Hit the beach to view the Atlantic Ocean, relax on the sand (which gets extremely hot during summer months!), and catch a glimpse of visitors from around the world in tiny swimsuits!

One of my favorite hotels on Collins Ave is the Delano. This swanky hotel radiates luxury. From the white sheer panels that greet you in the iconic lobby, to the crisp white custom décor throughout the hotel. Find your way to the back garden and pool area. This beautiful outdoor garden, the Orchard, resembles a scene from Alice in Wonderland. With hammocks for lounging, comfy daybeds to curl up on, and a giant chess set, visitors and guests can feel chicly relaxed. Twinkling lights strung throughout the trees, add another magical touch to the hotel garden. The pool is an inviting oasis at the end of the garden. Beautiful bungalows and lounge chairs surround the pool and inspire you to relax for a minute. After a brief tour of the Delano, eat at Bianca, which serves modern Italian food. With an amazing wine list, great food, and impeccable service, I will definitely visit Bianca again! Also visit the Delano’s two bars, the FDR or the Rose Bar for amazing cocktails!

After the Delano, we went to Fontainebleau. Opened in 1954, the Fontainebleau was the playground for glamorous celebrities like Frank Sinatra, the Beatles, Elvis, Judy Garland, Lucille Ball, and many more! With an updated glamour, this famous hotel still offers visitors serious star power and luxurious amenities. From swanky bars, lounges and the nightclub, Liv, guests can always find a spot to enjoy a drink! We sat in the lobby bar, the Bleau Bar. With a large lounge area, comfortable chairs, and great people watching!!

South Beach offers visitors remarkable beaches, energized nightlife, superior hotels, delicious dining, boutique shopping, and great people watching! Whether visiting South Beach for the evening or weekend, I’m sure you will find a Miami activity to spice up your life!
