I hope you had a fantastic weekend! This weekend I visited Historic Downtown Powell. Powell is located just north of Columbus, and best known as the home of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium and Zoombezi Bay. Powell is a great city to visit with nationally known restaurant chains and stores, but Historic Downtown Powell offers visitors a quaint village atmosphere. With locally owned antique shops, bakeries, boutiques, restaurants, and specialty shops, visitors will find eclectic items and delicious food and treats. Several times throughout the year, visitors can attend the Powell Street Market. This free, family friendly event is held rain or shine. Stroll the quaint streets to browse local vendors and artisans offering handmade items and visit local businesses, the Powell Street Market is a great showcase of downtown Powell.
Visit the Village Green Park with an amphitheater and pavilion, where events are held throughout the year. This nicely manicured park offers a relaxing atmosphere to enjoy a book on a park bench, walking or jogging, or playing with the kids (check out the adorable miniature splash pad for the kiddos). While in the park, take a moment to remember all of the United States Armed Forces that sacrificed so much for our freedom, at the Veterans Memorial. For such a small little village, Powell has so many things to offer visitors. I hope you can visit Historic Downtown Powell soon!
