Discover Illinois

Known as the “Land of Lincoln,” Illinois is best known by travelers for Chicago, the third-largest city in the US. Chicago is an amazing city with so many fun things to see and do. It’s long been a paradise for shoppers, with Michigan Avenue dubbed “the Magnificent Mile.” Even in the era of online shopping, shoppers still flock to Chicago to check out unique areas like Oak Street boutiques or visit mega-malls like Woodfield Center. With miles of Lake Michigan shoreline, there are many outdoor activities in Chicago as well.

Elsewhere in Illinois, visit quaint river towns like Galena or step back in time at Nauvoo, an early Mormon settlement. In the capital city of Springfield, there’s much to learn about Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States. Like Ohio, there’s an Illinois Amish Country in the central part of the state. Southern Illinois and the Shawnee National Forest is home to beautiful rock formations, caves, and canyons.
