ROAD TRIP ALONG CALIFORNIA’S SCENIC HIGHWAY ONE

When I close my eyes, I can still smell the fresh sea air and if I listen closely, the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore resonates in my ears.

A road trip along scenic Highway One in Monterey County, California has been on my travel wish list for as long as I can remember.

We started in Monterey and drove along the coast to the 17-Mile Drive at Pebble Beach.

After completing the famous 17-Mile Drive, we stopped in Carmel-by-the-Sea to grab lunch at Bruno’s Market & Deli and set off to drive along scenic Highway One!

Leaving Carmel-by-the-Sea, we allowed the scenic highway to navigate our way south towards Big Sur.

To have views like that while munching on fresh green grass, well, even I became a little envious of the four-legged creatures!!

We stopped at several coastal overlooks, even though just a short distance apart, differing spectacular views were abound!

Pulling over to marvel at the historic bridges, we began to ponder how these massive concrete structures were built during the “roaring twenties” and into the early thirties.
