Cherry Ridge Retreat: Hocking Hills Luxury Cabins

Cherry Ridge Retreat consists of eight luxury cabins; four family-friendly cabins and four romantic cabins for two. If you’re looking for a unique cabin experience, Cherry Ridge Retreat’s Observatory Cabin is one of the few Hocking Hills luxury cabins with a pool, it also has an unparalleled sky view with its own Celestron Astromaster EQ Telescope for ultimate stargazing. You can’t go wrong choosing a cabin, whether you’re looking for a Hocking Hills romantic getaway, fun family vacation or girlfriend’s retreat, the luxury cabins of Cherry Ridge Retreat are the perfect haven for your next getaway!
All of the cabins at Cherry Ridge Retreat are situated on private wooded lots for the ultimate secluded getaway. Cabin and room amenities available at Cherry Ridge Retreat are numerous and each cabin features spacious living rooms with vaulted ceilings, large windows for natural light, central air conditioning and heat, gas-log fireplace (available to use October-April), cozy seating, a flat screen television, Blu-Ray player, satellite television with over 200 channels, Sirius music channels and land-line telephone with free long distance.
Gourmet kitchens with full-sized appliances and an array of kitchen accessories including- coffee maker and grinder, blender, food processor, stainless cookware, kitchen utensils, dinnerware and silverware. Paper towels, dish soap and hand soap are provided. Spacious bedrooms include hypoallergenic linens and bathrooms are stocked with Aveda bath products, a hair dryer and bath and spa towels.
Outdoor amenities at each cabin include a private deluxe hot tub, fire pit with outdoor seating, hammock, picnic table and stainless-steel grill with propane included.
Property amenities at Cherry Ridge Retreat include 140 acres of private forested land with more than 5 miles of hiking trails through woods and ravines (trails are color-coded, trail map is available at the front office). A community space featuring a bird watching deck, fishing pond (catch and release), gazebo with 25-foot long two-tier bar, outdoor seating and picnic area.

Our stay in Water’s Edge Luxury Cabin:
From the moment we turned onto the main gravel road leading back to the office, we immediately felt at peace. A quick stop at the front office for contactless check-in and to pick up our cabin keys, then we made our way back the gravel road to Water’s Edge.
Nestled in a wooded lot and surrounded by tall mature trees, Water’s Edge overlooks the central pond and gazebo. Once inside the cabin, we felt like home with the cozy décor and the plethora of kitchen amenities. After we unpacked, we ventured outside to check out the private deluxe hot tub, private firepit area and lovely views of the surrounding picturesque woods.
We couldn’t wait to take a dip in the private hot tub, so we jumped in first and enjoyed the peaceful views while soaking in the deluxe four-person hot tub.
After our relaxing hot tub soak, we fixed dinner- my husband grilled a steak on the stainless-steel grill while I created a meat and cheese board for an appetizer and chopped vegetables for salads. Having a fully stocked kitchen made cooking dinner easy and proper dinnerware and silverware made us feel like we were eating at home.
After dinner, the sun was setting so we made our way to the private firepit. The sounds of nature were abound as crickets were chirping, frogs croaking and the fire crackling…it was our little slice of heaven in the woods! The perfect ending to our night was roasting marshmallows by the fire and creating S’mores, yum!
We woke up refreshed from a peaceful night’s sleep and enjoyed our coffee outdoors with the sounds of chirping birds and crickets, a wonderful start to the day! Then we explored a few of the on-property hiking trails before leaving.
From the cabin tucked perfectly in the woods, the privacy of the cabin (we literally did not see another person during our stay), the relaxing hot tub soak and feeling like a child again while making S’mores by the firepit, we truly enjoyed our stay at Cherry Ridge Retreat and cannot wait to return again for the ultimate secluded getaway!
What to bring to Cherry Ridge Retreat:
While the cabins do have full-size kitchen appliances and fully equipped with kitchen and grill accessories, you will need to bring your own:
- Food and snacks for the duration of your stay
- S’mores kit (graham crackers, Hershey chocolate bars and marshmallows), we also brought our own marshmallow roasting stick
- Drinks- water, coffee, soda, beer, wine, etc.
- Cooking necessities- spices, cooking oil, aluminum foil, leftover containers, etc.
- Clothes, hiking boots and gear
- Swimsuit for the hot tub
- Toiletries (Aveda bath products are provided)
- Electronic devices and chargers
- Fishing equipment if you want to fish
*The nearest gas station, grocery store or restaurant is 25-30 minutes away from the cabins, so be sure to stock up before arriving.
What’s not included in your Cherry Ridge Retreat stay:
Although each luxury cabin has plenty of amenities, there are a few things not included.
- Wi-Fi is available for an additional charge.
- Firewood is available to purchase for indoor fireplaces and outdoor firepits. The Ohio Department of Agriculture and the Ohio Division of Forestry recommend limiting the movement of firewood to protect against the spread of wood-borne pests, therefore Cherry Ridge Retreat only allows firewood purchased at the property to be burned.
- Cherry Ridge Retreat offers several package upgrades to enhance your stay. From in-cabin massage therapy, full-amenity bundles to flower and chocolate packages, view their upgrade packages for the ultimate stay.
- Laundry services are not provided. Guests can request to borrow an iron and ironing board from the front desk.
- Food and drinks.
