A Stay at InterContinental The Clement Monterey
Have you ever found yourself loving a hotel so much that you want to stay longer? My stay at InterContinental The Clement Monterey had me falling in love with the warm hospitality of Monterey and the stunning views of Cannery Row and Monterey Bay!
With the romantic notion of discovering the setting of John Steinbeck’s beloved novel Cannery Row, a hotel at the heart of historic Cannery Row was the perfect location for our stay. Nestled in the center of Cannery Row with breathtaking views of the historic Monterey Bay, InterContinental The Clement Monterey is the perfect boutique hotel. Since its location is directly on Cannery Row, guests have easy access to boutique shops, restaurants, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and can walk the footsteps of Steinbeck’s characters from Cannery Row. The hotel’s “backyard” delivers a special ambiance with waterfront views of rolling waves and guests might even catch a glimpse of the playful see otters, dolphins, harbor seals and whales that call the bay home.
Hotel guests and Monterey visitors alike can enjoy delicious meals from the C Restaurant featuring fresh seafood endorsed by the Seafood Watch of the Monterey Bay Aquarium. Sweeping views of the bay from the floor-to-ceiling windows are available from every table which makes for a wonderful way to enjoy a great meal. Both the C Restaurant and the C Bar with its Pacific Courtyard offer outdoor seating to enjoy a delicious meal, appetizers and cocktails, or a cup of Illy’s coffee with a beautiful ocean view. We enjoyed breakfast at the C Restaurant and had the most delicious lobster eggs benedict that I have ever eaten! A perfect way to start the day in Monterey!
Our cozy room with a balcony overlooking Cannery Row and Monterey Bay was the perfect retreat for our Monterey getaway! The balcony lured me to stay and enjoy the spectacular views, while the marble soaking tub called my name to relax after a long day of sightseeing! The fluffy white linens and nightly turn-down service made me sleep like a baby, especially with the balcony door open listening to the peaceful ocean waves.
Spectacular sunrises from our private balcony were well worth the early wakeup call!
The Spa at InterContinental The Clement Monterey is a relaxing oasis in the heart of Monterey. My husband and I scheduled the Big Sur Getaway spa package for an hour of pampering and relaxation. With side-by-side massages which included essential oils reminiscent of the Big Sur Coast and heated river stones from the Big Sur River, the spa treatment was the perfect way to unwind after a day of sightseeing! (Thanks to our massage therapists Tammy and Melanie!)

From its prime location on Cannery Row, waterfront views of Monterey Bay, cozy guest rooms, delicious restaurant and bar, relaxing spa and friendly staff (their wonderful concierge staff, especially Lucille, were so helpful with providing local hotspots), you will find the perfect retreat at InterContinental The Clement Monterey!
