Just back from…
I have spent the past few weeks on an amazing adventure, and feel so fortunate to be able to travel and experience this amazing world! With so many memories filling my heart and mind, I can’t wait to share with you all of the wonderful places I visited! While I am currently editing hundreds of photos and writing numerous blog posts, I wanted to quickly share a few highlights of my trip:
~Visited:
-two continents: Europe and Asia
-three countries: England, Israel, and Jordan
-twelve cities
~Explored three deserts:
-Negev, Judean, and Wadi Rum (slept in a Bedouin camp in Wadi Rum!)
~Dipped my toes in 5 different bodies of water:
-Dead Sea, Mediterranean Sea, Red Sea, the River Jordan, and the Sea of Galilee
~Visited Petra, one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World” (my second wonder of the world, I visited the Great Wall of China in 2010!)
~Visited six UNESCO World Heritage Sites:
-England: Stonehenge
-Israel: Old City of Jerusalem, Masada, White City of Tel Aviv
-Jordan: Petra, Wadi Rum
~Visited the highest and lowest points in Israel:
-Highest: Mt. Hermon at 2,224 meters above sea level (technically I didn’t climb the mountain, so I really didn’t reach the highest point, but I stood at the base, that is close enough for me!)
-Lowest: Dead Sea at 417 meters below sea level, making the Dead Sea the lowest point on earth!!
~Joined a dance party (with young Jordanians) in the middle of the Wadi Rum desert and danced the night away!
~Created memories for a lifetime, my heart was so full, it could have burst! 🙂
Stay tuned for numerous upcoming blog posts about Stonehenge, Israel, and Jordan!!
Thanks for reading!
Heather
