Visit Walnut Creek
The Amish Country Christmas celebrations start in early November and last throughout the Christmas season. Walnut Creek will hold a small community celebration of Christmas in the Village at the square on Friday, November 8, 2024. Local church groups perform Christmas devotionals and carols, a candle lighting ceremony, and a countdown to when the village Christmas tree is lit. During the holiday event, the local shops host an open house with holiday offers and discounts.
There’s also the “Journey to Bethlehem” event on December 6 and 7 from 4pm-8pm, where you can experience Joseph and Mary’s journey to Bethlehem. The participants can stop at various places along the way and meet biblical characters, including the shepherds. The “Journey to Bethlehem” walk and drive ends with a live nativity scene.
Visit Berlin
At the Christmas Open House in Berlin, you’ll find the local shops decorated for the holiday season with lights, luminaries, wreaths, and Christmas trees. It’s the perfect time to buy unique Christmas gifts for your family and friends.
Celebrating the reason for the season, the Berlin Live Nativity Parade takes place on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 6:30pm and rings in the Christmas season. The live nativity parade with vibrant floats, festive holiday songs, and an appearance by Santa is one of the best ways to celebrate Christmas in Amish Country Ohio. The parade is followed by sweet treats of hot chocolate and cookies, caroling and a candle lighting ceremony on the Berlin Square.
Watch A Live Theater Performance
Live theater performances bring to life the old traditions of an Amish Country Christmas. If you want to experience the old-fashioned Christmas feel, head to the Amish Country Theater to watch a variety of family-friendly Christmas shows.
However, that’s not the only performance in Amish Country! If you visit the Ohio Star Theater at Dutch Valley, you can see many other fun and entertaining performances, including A Christmas Carol, HCA – The Nutcracker and A Tribute to Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert. If you’re up for some Christmas shopping, head to the Tis the Season Christmas Shoppe, it’s a one-stop shop for all your Christmas needs!
As Ohio’s largest year-round Christmas store, the building is as unique as the contents! Inside this 80 foot round building with 20,000 square feet of Christmas wonderland, you will find everything from Christmas trees, decorations, thousands of ornaments, a hundred varieties of lights, toys, candy, Christmas-themed edible goodies and so much more!

Watchel’s Family Christmas Lights
Christmas is incomplete without festive holiday light displays! In Holmes County, you can find one of the longest running light displays in Northeast Ohio!
Spring Walk Farms, owned by the Watchel family, has been around for more than 60 years. Each year, they create an opulent Christmas light display with thousands of twinkling lights and dozens of animated characters. If you want to experience holiday cheer like no other, drive through the farm and enjoy Amish Christmas lights at their best!

The Pine Tree Barn is a third-generation family business that specializes in gifts and furnishings, a ‘year round Christmas shop, a Christmas Tree Farm and a restaurant.

Bring your family to choose and cut your own tree, take a caboose ride or a horse drawn carriage ride and warm up with hot chocolate before taking your tree home.
